One of the places that kept coming up was 15-24 Brew House in Clay Center. KS so we decided we could not go wrong with such great reviews.
Sometimes the journey is part of the fun and that was the case for our trip to Clay Center, KS, and the 15-24 Brew House! We decided to take off on a Saturday and head to Clay Center, my husband craving Tasty Pastry and I wanted to check out the murals that are part of a Mural Movement Clay Center.
As we were headed to Clay Center, or simply, "Clay" as people say around here say, I started to look for lunch spots and also asked on the Mural Movement site for suggestions of places they would recommend. One of the places that kept coming up was 15-24 Brew House. After reading the many online reviews and checking out their menu, we decided we could not go wrong with 15-24 Brew House.
For those that might be wondering about the significance of the 15 and 24 in their name, well it is all in the location. Clay Center, KS sits at the intersection of highways 15 and 24 so they decided to use them to name the Brew House!
After checking out the murals in Downtown Clay Center and the Clay Center Zoo, we headed back to Downtown Clay Center and immediately to the Brew House. The space was fun and it was nice to see a large patio area out front for dining on nice days. We were immediately greeted by their super friendly as soon as we walked in! Our waitress was very helpful as we were trying to decide which beers to add to our flight and then which menu items we each wanted to order.
15-24 Brew House is offering up some awesome award-winning brews! Our flight of four included the Roadie Rhubarb, The Nancy, Peel Out, and the Dunkel. My favorite was the Roadie Rhubarb, strawberry rhubarb is one of my favorite pies so to enjoy these same flavors as a beer was delicious! For those who partake in The Nancy's at So Long and Taco Lucha, this Nancy is a little different spin than what we were used to, but who doesn't love a Nancy? The Peel-Out and Dunkel were tasty, with the Peel-Out coming in as my second favorite!
If you find a beer that you really enjoy, 15-24 Brew House also offers Growlers for sale! Take your favorite home, or give them as gifts! Their award-winning beers are so good that for multiple years they have won at the United States Beer Tasting Championship!
The menu at 15-24 Brew House is a great mix of offerings and will certainly be a crowd-pleaser! We decided to order some Buffalo Wings as our appetizer which had a nice kick for those who like a little heat and were something we would definitely order again!
We decided to split the fish and chips basket and one of the burgers! First off, the portions were huge and everything came out piping hot! The burger was one of the best I have ever had and literally was everything a burger should be! Learning more about 15-24 Brew House and their involvement in much of the community, I was also pleasantly surprised to know that their beef comes from the local locker plant in Clay Center.
On our next trip, we plan to grab one of the pizzas, they were definitely popular. It almost felt like everyone else had at least one on their table! LOL When we were ordering the staff let us know that the pizzas take a little extra time so we decided to make it something to look forward to! As you can imagine, I totally recommend making a trip. Clay Center is an awesome town full of amazing businesses and people! If you want to take the trip we did make sure you get up early, those Tasty Pastry rolls go fast! It will be worth it especially since you can walk it off viewing the murals in downtown Clay Center, then head over to the Clay Center Zoo, and just as we did, make your way to 15-24 Brew House for lunch!
