Like most of us, we have been cooking at home more which means we have been going through plastic bags like crazy! In my heart, I have always wanted to do better for the environment and cut down on my use of plastics but, again like most of us. I am busy, I know the worst excuse in the book!! While I am far from where I want to be, I am making a step in the right direction. I received a much-needed kick in the butt from two documentaries I have recently watched. One of them is on Netflix and the other is on HULU.
Thanks to their work, I am slowly but surely working my way back to where I was years ago. For those of you interested or just wanting to add to your watchlist here they are. First off, Ocean Ramsey, a Marine Biologist, takes you through the delicate ocean ecosystem that is truly hanging in the balance. The videography is stunning as you become immersed in the beauty of the ocean! Even the sharks!! To learn about the ocean and how dependant our ecosystem is on sharks, you must watch Saving Jaws!
The other documentary was on Netflix, David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet. For those of you who do not know, David Attenborough is a fantastic journalist who has covered basically EVERYTHING. His passion, the environment, and how we can do better. People, he is 92! He tells the story to help up us understand how the loss of the wild places and the animals roamed who roamed there have impacted us all while learning from our past. He also helps to give us a glimpse into our future and shares what we can do to change the trajectory that we are on and to bring hope.

Now, to the reason, we are here, storage bags. The Stasher bag is a reusable platinum silicone bag that you can use for just about anything, seriously! I have looked online and in stores at various bags, but I really wanted them to be a "one-stop-shop" kind of bag and boy are these.
With the Stasher Bags, you can of course use them for food storage, but you can also use them in the microwave, with a sous vide machine, a standard oven, or a pot of boiling water — up to 400F. Stasher bags can also be used as a freezer bag and they are dishwasher safe! The Stasher bags are completely free of BPA, BPS, lead, latex, and phthalates so you do not have to worry about harmful chemicals like with other plastics.

Their website has a great FAQ page which I found very helpful and you can also read some of their 10,000 5-Star reviews. While you can purchase on their website, you can also buy Stasher bags at Target or on Amazon. The prices vary and it is important to remember that you will get thousands of uses out of each bag, plus I think we can all agree that the Ziploc bags at the stores are not that cheap either! Especially when we just throw those away.

The bottom icon on the bag of the packaging says, "more bright ideas." I am very excited to use mine especially with Thanksgiving coming up, let me know how you use yours! I am all about brainstorming things and I think this is an excellent way for us all to share our brilliant ideas!
