You know this Spicy Beef Dip is going to be good when it combines Beef, Cream cheese, Parmesan, and Ketchup just to name a few ingredients!
If you were raised in my family then you knew that when we were getting together there was going to be a Crockpot filled with Spicy Beef Dip! Seriously, my grandma must have bought the grocery store in her small town out of Cream Cheese every time we were all getting together!
This Spicy Cheese Dip recipe was given to my grandma by a friend of hers named, Ione. I have always had this recipe but while at home for Christmas I photographed every recipe in my mom and grandma's recipe box and decided to share the original with you!
You know this Spicy Beef Dip is going to be good when it combines Beef, Cream cheese, Parmesan, and Ketchup for some of its base ingredients! I mean, really, what isn't there to like in this recipe??
We have been known to add jalapeno's or Rotel to the mix after it is made to spice it up a little! This Spicy Cheese Dip is a very forgiving dip with many possible variations to make it your own.
Although this is called "spicy" cheese dip, there really is no "heat!" We have been known to add jalapeno's or Rotel to the mix after it is made to spice it up a little, but this time I made the original because when I am craving cheese dip, this is what I am craving. To make it even easier, we have been known to use dried onions versus fresh while browning the ground beeffor a time saver when making this!
Trust me when I say, this dip will be gone almost as fast as you can make it! Don't forget to play around with it, it is a very forgiving dip with many possible variations to make it your own from this base recipe. Although we normally serve this with Tostito's, with the base being cream cheese you can also have crackers or celery and carrots for a Keto-friendly option.
Spicy Beef Dip
This is another family tradition and a tasty twist on what most people think of as cheese dip! The mixture is easy and comes together in less than 20 min.!
Cook Beef, onion, and Garlic until meat is lightly browned. I prefer fresh garlic, but feel free to use powder to taste.
Stir in Ketchup and Tomato Sauce. Simmer for 10 min. and spoon off excess fat and either turn off stove or remove pan from heat.
Add both Cheeses and stir until the cheese is melted and well combined. Warm in a chafing dish or crockpot and serve. Makes 3 cups.
If necessary, salt and pepper to taste.

Notes
While cooking the meat feel free to salt and pepper to taste, or wait until the end to adjust if needed. You can either use freshly grated cheese or pre-packaged cheese. For me, it normally depends on what I have on hand, or the time I have available! Really it boils down to whatever you prefer and what is the easiest option for you. I have done it both ways and they tasted perfect each time.If you do not have Parmesan cheese on hand you can also use grated Mozzarella only if it is the pre-shredded packaged mozzarella. Fresh Mozzarella would be too watery for this dip! Since this has a base of cream cheese, you can serve a more Keto friendly option with celery and carrots to dip!
