We all do our best to shop local here in Manhattan, KS, but I wanted to share some of my favorite gifts to give from a few of our amazing local businesses. We are so fortunate in our area that we have so many stores to choose from. Our downtown alone is a great mix of boutique shops, food, home goods, lifestyle, and more, all within just a few blocks! A bottle of Bramasole Olive Oil from The Winged Lion. For my fellow Under the Tuscan Sun fans, you read that right, it is THAT Bramasole! When I was shopping in The Winged Lion, Ralph told me they were carrying it, and I was surprised I had not bought the entire shelf! Under the Tuscan Sun is one of my favorite movies, and I think I have seen it 100 times! This is a beautiful Olive Oil and is perfect for not just fans of Frances Mayes but also those foodies in your life who appreciate a really good Olive Oil!
Turkish Cutting Board from furnish! Okay, I love cutting boards, big ones, small ones, you name I love them! The Turkish cutting boards are some of my favorites! While it is not recommended to use them for meal prep, they are great for decoration, or with a piece of parchment, they are perfect for charcuterie boards and serving! The history in each board really warms your space, plus I think it is so cool to see the flour ground into the boards from all the bread and doughs that have been formed on them over the years!
Wallet Clutch from The Boutique! I am a huge fan of a good clutch, I am not sure one can ever have enough of them. Clutches to me are a perfect gift. They are great for travel, to throw in your work bag, or as a grab-and-go! This one from The Boutique is one of my favorites; it is a perfect size and can transform into a wristlet, a crossbody, or can be worn as a fanny pack. They have several patterns and colors to choose from.
Handmade Chocolates at Radina's. I think chocolate is an easy way to please, and for me, sometimes consumable gifts are even better. If I can give a gift that someone shares with their family and friends at the holidays, I am happy to do that. Normally, it takes one thing off their list of to-do's and they get to enjoy with the people they love!
Love Stone necklace from G. Thomas Jewelers. I have given several of these as gifts, and they are just perfect! The variety of stones allows you to choose the perfect one, and the price point makes them very affordable as well! Who doesn't love that? Beyond the Love stones, Bobbi and her team at G. Thomas always have an amazing variety and price points for their customers.
The entire Manhappiness collection from Gatherings at 3 Thirteen. We ALL love our MHK and Manhappiness goodies, but this collection helps us take it to the next level! They have so many cute dish towels, pillows, notepads, mugs, and more that are perfect for all your KSU and Manhattan peeps near and far!
A Floral arrangement from 14-19 Mercantile. A great floral arrangement can bring joy to someone's day, or at this time of year, be the perfect accent to a holiday table! In addition, you will find so many other goodies. Even better, tell them your price point and have them create a gift for you from various items in the store.
A pie from Therapie because once you have had Therapie, you will totally understand! You can order directly from Therapie, or if you stop by Brother's Coffee, they are selling pies at the coffee shop. These pies range from sweet to savory, and if you are in the pie of the month club, everything in between!
A book from ACME Gift because they have the most unusual titles you just don't see anywhere else. I once gave my sister a book titled "How to Survive a Garden Gnome Attack." I mean, you just never know, so better safe than sorry! LOL They have a wide assortment of other gifts and fresh flower bouquets that are perfect everytime.
Mesa Collection Boutique is in Downtown MHK. Here you will find fun KSU jewelry, at least one or two more items to add to your KSU apparel collection. One of my favorite gifts to give from Mesa Co. here is a pair of their "cats" earrings. They are fun and simple! You can also find fun bags, KC Chiefs gear, and great on-trend pieces to add to your wardrobe, so a gift card would always be welcome!
