A Little About Me
Hey there! I'm Tara Claycamp—the storyteller behind Purple Iris Everywhere, where everyday moments become my stories. Most people know me as a local REALTOR®, but here, I like to call myself an unofficial ambassador. If you've landed here, welcome! I'm a Kansas girl through and through, deeply rooted in the Flint Hills and the vibrant community of Manhattan, KS—a place I've called home since 1998. My journey started with Purple Iris Everywhere, a blog I created to share my favorite local spots, hidden gems, and the stories that make our community unique. But life, as it often does, had other plans. Through personal growth, loss, and learning to see life through a new lens, I felt a shift—one that led me to Purple Iris Everywhere.
The name is inspired by my grandmother's love of gardening and the belief that our loved ones never truly leave us. My grandmother grew everything in her garden, but her favorite was purple iris. Now, every time I see a lone purple iris blooming unexpectedly, I smile and say “hello,” and take it as a gentle reminder that those we've lost are always with us, watching over and guiding us.
