Fusion by Manuel in Hays, KS offers guests a fantastic variety of flavors and cuisines at their restaurant in Hays, KS.
When we were home for the 4th of July we were super busy running here and there so we didn't get to cook as much as normal. When we had a break from our running around we decided to take a late lunch, trying to decide where we wanted to eat I casually mentioned that I had wanted to try Fusion by Manuel in Downtown Hays.
Since all of us are foodies and are always game to try new things, it was a quick "That Works" and off we went. While I had been to Tiger Station before, most of my family hadn't. It is such a fun place with a wonderful ambiance and shares so much history about the historic station and Hays inside the walls.
After surveying the menu we decided on our orders. My husband and I, ordered the Pad Thai, my sister the Cuban Sandwich, my brother-in-law the Paella and the guys also decided we needed some street corn! Not that my sister or I disagreed! LOL
Fantastic food in Hays, KS
The street corn came out first and while we are all fans of Elote', this version knocked our socks off! When the rest of our order came we all knew we over-ordered! The portions are seriously huge! Regardless we dug in, my husband and I started on our Pad Thai and it had just the right amount of heat to give it a kick and the sauce was amazing. In my Pad Thai, I added shrimp, which were large and cooked to perfection. I was shocked by how many shrimp came with the order which also made it very filling.
My sister dug into her Cuban Sandwich which is served on freshly made Telera bread, it was everything that a Cuban Sandwich should be! Ham, roasted pork, swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, and banana peppers all inside that amazing toasty bread! UMM, it was so good! The french fries alone I could have eaten a bucket full of them!
Now onto my brother-in-law, Paella! This portion surprised me the most, I think we could have gotten two or three meals out of this alone, especially after the Street Corn! The Paella was filled with Mussels, Shrimp, and veggies, and served with Spanish Rice. While I am sure you will not be surprised, but another dish that was a total knock-out!
I think we all took food home and raved about the meal all day so much so that my parents decided they needed to try it. So my parents, sister, my husband, and I ordered take-out that very evening. My parents both ordered the Cuban Sandwich, my husband tried the Tiger Burger, my sister ordered the Gyro, and, I decided to try the Sizzling Beef! As soon as my parents tasted their food they understood what we were raving about. It was all so fresh, and flavorful, and they also mentioned how sizeable the portions were but this time, we all ate everything!
Now, this is the funny part. My niece and nephew heard us talk about Fusion by Manuel and since they are foodies, we ended up going for lunch the next day! As soon as we walked in the staff got a big smile on their face, and so did we. Actually, it was a good laugh for everyone, how many times do you go to your hometown and eat lunch, dinner, and lunch again from the same place?
Food made with quality ingredients and seasoned to perfection
Again, we decided to try new things which is one of the best parts about this menu, there are so many options and flavor profiles to choose from. My brother-in-law chose the Tiger Burger after we told him how good it was, my nephew the Gyro, my niece the Torta, My husband the Fusion Fries, and my sister and I ordered the daily special, a Chicken Milanese topped with Ceasar Salad. Once again, everything was fantastic and we devoured our meals, especially those dang fries!
