Now, you might be saying that this is not cooking your way through your grandma's recipe box, but I know these cookies and I know how I like them so I nixed the raisins and nuts!

How do you make Grandma's Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Pre-heat over to 350 degrees.
- Cream together shortening, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
- Add in one egg at a time.
- Mix in flour, soda, and oatmeal. Do not over-mix.
- Add in nuts, raisins, and chocolate chips
- Roll dough into balls and place on a cookie sheet.
- Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes.
- Allow cookies to rest on a cookie sheet for five minutes, then place on a cooling rack.
Grandma's Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup shorting
- 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cup Sifted Flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 cups Oatmeal
- 1 cup Chopped Nuts
- 1 cup Seedless raisins
- 2 packages Chocolate
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cream together shortening, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
- Add in one egg at a time.
- Mix in flour, soda, and oatmeal. Do not over mix.
- Add in nuts, raisins, and chocolate chips
- Roll dough into ball and place on cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Once removed from the over allow to sit on the cookie sheet for five minutes. Then move to a cooling rack.
