These cookies are delicious, soft, chewy, and chocolatey! For those who like nuts and raisins in their cookies, these are part of this recipe, but if you know me you know I am out on those! Now, you might be saying that this is not cooking your way through your grandma's recipe box, but I know these cookies and I know how I like them so I nixed the raisins and nuts!
It has been so long since I had these cookies, it was like a trip down memory lane as soon as I took a bite! I love how the amoras and your tastebuds can transport you to a specific time and place. It is truly magic!

They freeze great, whether you freeze them baked, or freeze the raw dough balls.
How do you make Grandma's Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Pre-heat over to 350 degrees.
Cream together shortening, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
Add in one egg at a time.
Mix in flour, soda, and oatmeal. Do not over-mix.
Add in nuts, raisins, and chocolate chips
Roll dough into balls and place on a cookie sheet.
Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes.
Allow cookies to rest on a cookie sheet for five minutes, then place on a cooling rack.
