The Midwest Dream Car Collection is an incredible showcase of automotive history, spanning from 1886 to the present day. Its impressive 65-car collection is open to the public and offers a diverse range of cars for enthusiasts of all kinds. Midwest Dream Car Collection originally began as the private collection of Ward and Brenda Morgan, local business owners and philanthropists, then in 2019, they opened Midwest Dream Car Collection.

The collection is not about simply walking around and looking at the vehicles on exhibit, there is an educational aspect to the collection as well. Each car features a display so that visitors can learn more about the vehicle, and read a brief description. Some of the vehicle displays also have QR codes which allow for a more interactive experience for visitors.

On my first trip, I loved seeing the Sonny and Cher car, as a lifelong Cher fan, this was so cool to me and something I never expected to see. On my more recent trip, there was a one-of-a-kind Rolls-Royce on display and it was unbelievable. In no way would I consider myself a car buff, but I will be the first to say that I always find the car collection so interesting.

I also really appreciate the volunteers sharing about the unique features of the car which always seem to make the visits even better! The volunteers at Midwest Dream Car are amazing! Their knowledge and passion for the collection is infectious. I have been to the collection a handful of times and each time I have learned more than I could have imagined.

The Midwest Dream Car Collection spans the 55,000 sq ft space with rotating exhibits through the loaner network allowing for new vehicles to frequently make their way into the collection. That being said, it is not always the collection inside that is actively engaging with the Manhattan community. Throughout the year they are also hosting a variety of innovative events to share their passion for cars and allow others to do the same!

I have also been to a couple of events held at Midwest Dream Car Collection and I have to say, it is truly one of space to hold an event. With the backdrop of one-of-a-kind cars, vintage automobiles, American muscle, and more, who wouldn't have fun at an event here? The museum offers such a special setting that is interactive for both you and your guests.

Midwest Dream Car Collection is located at 3007 Anderson Ave. and is open Thursday and Friday 10 am-5 pm, Saturday 9 am-5 pm, and Sunday 12--5 pm. For updates on the collection, or to learn about special events, you can also follow along on their Facebook page!
