There are so many fun murals in Salina, KS! This list is just the beginning and I can't wait to add more information about the amazing art and murals throughout the community!
I recently got back from a trip to Denver, CO. to visit family and after landing at the Salina Airport, I decided to take the opportunity and check out some of the fantastic murals popping up in Salina, KS. The Salina Kanvas Project is working to improve their community through art with a variety of murals and sculptures throughout town.
There is so much art, but unfortunately, I only had a little bit of time before I needed to get home. However, I can not wait to get back and spend more time taking in all the murals and sculptures that Salina has to offer. There was one mural that has been getting a lot of attention lately so I knew I had to check it out so it only makes sense for it to be first on the list.
H.D. Lee Flour Mill in Salina, KS is truly unbelievable, truly breathtaking! I had seen so many pictures of this mural and absolutely none of the pictures do it justice, you HAVE to see this in person! This 100-foot high mural wraps around the Flour Mill and is known as "Mural at the Mill." This mural was made possible by Salina Kanvas Project. The "Mural at the Mill" was painted by Guido Van Helten of Australia and is located on North Sante Fe in Salina, KS!
Next up is a gorgeous mural of sunflowers and musical notes painted along the side of this building in downtown Salina, KS! These sunflowers are bright yellow and pop on the purple background. It is such a fun mural!!
The Yard in Salina, KS is a premier indoor training facility for both baseball and softball athletes to continue to develop their talents, but that is not all it is offering to the community. In their outdoor practice field, they are also working to brighten their community with these two murals depicting athletes playing baseball! The art is another tool for teaching these athletes that there is more to life and that what you do off the field matters as much as what you do on. If you are a fan of street art and murals like I am, mark your calendars, because Salina has a HUGE event coming up for the fall of 2022. The Salina Mural Festival will be happening the second week in Oct. and will be bringing in some amazing artists from all over the world to create some amazing new murals to add to this list! Salina, KS is known for many festivals and this one will be no different and one not to miss!
