This has been a long time coming, especially with a community anxiously waiting, but Parkside Station in Manhattan, KS is open! Located on the corner of 11th and Poyntz, Parkside Station is located in the old Dawson's Conoco Service Station. This historic building has been reimagined into something so special and it is a perfect fit in the Manhattan Community.
Parkside Station is open daily and is serving up breakfast, brunch, lunch, and the occasional evening meal but make sure to follow their Facebook page for current hours. With the popularity of the restaurant, they have had to adjust hours occasionally.
We grabbed our reservation on Toasttab for breakfast last Saturday and we loved being able to do that. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the welcoming staff and taken to our table. Even though I briefly looked at the menu online, it was almost impossible to decide what to order. Per usual, there were two of us and we ordered three meals because you only live once right?

My husband chose the Coffee Rubbed Brisket Sandwich for his breakfast. The sandwich was good and had a nice balance of all the ingredients. I order the Johnny Cake Sandwich at the recommendation of the staff. It was really good and as you can see, it is a huge portion. I don't think I made it through one-third of my meal. Plus, their fries are delicious! I completely missed that it came with fries on the menu, but I wound up eating almost every single one of them, seriously they are so good!
Then, last but not least, the Challah French Toast for the table! I said that like there were several people, lol. I am not a huge sweet breakfast person, but OMG, this French toast is so good. Per the menu, the thick-sliced Challah is topped with lemon curd, tres leches anglaise, cinnamon streusel, and Chantilly cream. They are generous with all the toppings and it is amazing, we basically polished it all off while we were there.
In addition to having a sit-down meal at Parkside Station, there is also a wonderful pastry counter for visitors to walk in and order to-go items. The coffee and pastry counter has a variety of croissants, pretzels, cinnamon rolls, cookies, Danish, and so much more. After we ate, we had to walk over and make sure we did not need anything else before we left.

While I am anxiously awaiting spring for several reasons, one reason is to be able to enjoy dining on the patio at Parkside Station. They will have an amazing outdoor space for guests to enjoy, and being located right across the street from Manhattan City Park is perfect! It will be so nice after events in the park to walk to Parkside Station and grab dinner before heading home.
If you have already been to Parkside, let me know what you enjoyed. We can't wait to go back and try more of the items on their breakfast menu and then I will have to decide what I am starting with as we work our way through their dinner menu!
