Spark's Burger Co. is now open in Downtown Manhattan, KS! They are offering fast food reimagined. Locally sourcing many of its ingredients allows Spark's Burger Co to be mindful of sustainability and quality!
There is a new restaurant downtown, Spark's Burger Co. in Manhattan, KS has opened its doors! Spark's Burger Co. is focused on putting out great food by local farmers and ranchers. All the meats, eggs, and dairy are from ranchers within 100 miles. Spark's Burger Co. is the brainchild of Genevieve McGregor. Through the restaurant, Genevieve is looking to recreate how we view fast food and at the same time, encourage us to be more mindful of where our food comes from!
Partnering with local producers allows Spark's Burger Co. to source fresh and sustainable ingredients. For those from the area, many of the names will be familiar. In their milkshakes, they are using Hildebrand milk from Hildebrand Dairy which is located in Junction City, KS. Their beef for their hamburgers is from, Leffler Prime Performance beef from Americus, KS. Their hotdogs, used in their BYO Spark Dog and Spark Suzy Dog Burger are another local favorite, Pacheco Beef from Alma, KS!
We went to Spark's today for lunch, and even though they just recently opened, everything seemed to be running smoothly! Ordering was done at the bar, and then your food is brought to the table. I ordered the Spark Burger and my business partner ordered the BYO Spark Dog Burger. We also added sweet potato waffle fries and fried pickles to share.
Our meal came out very quickly and the staff let us know that at the end of the bar was additional condiments and napkins. My burger was cooked nicely, and the toppings and spark sauce gave the burger a nice, classic flavor. The fried pickles were pipping hot and frankly, I don't think you can ever go wrong with a fried pickle! The sweet potato waffle fries were a nice change from the more traditional sweet potato fries and were cooked well.
Everything was good, the prices were fair, and the staff was incredibly pleasant and helpful. I look forward to going back and trying more items from their menu! When I was walking out I noticed a table enjoying milkshakes and knew that I would definitely be back for one of those!
Spark's Burger Co. also offers a breakfast menu for those looking to try a new breakfast spot in town. The breakfast menu is served until 11 am. In fact, we might have to stop back by this Saturday on our way to the Downtown Farmer's Market on Saturday morning!
