Nico's Little Italy

If you have been to Martinelli's in Salina, you are in luck! Nico's Little Italy is their sister restaurant located here in Manhattan, KS. As you can guess, the menu is traditional Italian food, amazing chopped salad, and scratch-made desserts!

Growing up I remember eating at Martinelli's in Salina, Kansas. We would drive over from my hometown of Hays, KS for a day of shopping or sports and then pick one of our favorite restaurants to eat at. Looking back there was definitely a rotation, but Martinelli's was on the list!

When I first drove past Aggieville and noticed the new signage that said, Nico's Little Italy, I was excited to have a new restaurant in town especially an Italian one! 🙂 As you might have guessed, I love carbs, but who doesn't??

Enjoy Italian cuisine in the heart of Aggieville!

I have anxiously awaited the grand opening and was excited to see on Facebook they are open to the public! Especially because today is also my birthday. Needless to say, dinner was Italian! The restaurant is in a great location, right on the corner of 11th and Moro in Aggieville. Nico's Little Italy has a spacious outdoor patio area if you enjoy dining outside! The restaurant has large windows that allow tons of light in the space while you prefer to dine in their dining room.

Enjoy sitting inside the restaurant or outside on the patio.

The menu is filled with classic Italian dishes and make your own pasta! The appetizers were great and of course, I had to get their Martinelli's Chop Salad. It is a tradition and oh so good! As I am sure you can imagine the portions are HUGE! You have a few choices when ordering your food. I feel like the portion sizes are really, you came hungry, are plan to share or if you are following our lead, you plan to take home for leftovers! I recommend planning to "take-home!"

You must try the Martinelli's Chop Salad at Nico's Little Italy, it is a classic!

With all the options it was hard to choose just one thing. For our entrees, my husband decided on the Chicken Marsala with Penne and I had the Sicilian Shrimp and Scallop Pasta! Both were amazing and did I mention the portions? I don't think the photos truly show the amount of food. These are the half size, but I can't wait for the leftovers this week.

It was tough to decide, but the section on the menu called "Pass the Pasta" was the winner!

Since it was my birthday I decided I needed to leave room for dessert. I truly committed to the dessert menu and ordered two! When it is your birthday two desserts for one person is a completely acceptable number! The two I selected were the classic Creme Brulee and my favorite, Cannoli! I finished both and it was the 100% right decision.

When it is your birthday you have permission to order and eat two desserts, it's a rule!

I am sure it will only get better as they continue to get in the swing of things. For those who are not able to make it to the restaurant, you can also order online Nico's Little Italy and have your food delivered by following the link here! Make sure you help this business like all others right now, like and share their Facebook pages to help spread the word they are open for business!
