Mix up a quick batch and have the perfect dessert. Cream Puffs are also fun to serve with a topping bar. Have a spread of Whipped Topping, Chocolate Syrup, fruit and more for everyone to make their own.

Cream Puff Filling

This is my grandma's recipe for Cream Puff filling. It gives the "puffs" the perfect amount of sweetness and completes one of our favorite desserts that she would make. Top these with whipped cream, chocolate ganache or simply some Hershey's syrup and you have a dessert everyone will enjoy!

Equipment

  • Double Boiler or stockpot with a glass bowl that is large enough to rest on top and make your own double boiler.
  • Separate bowl for filling to cool in.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 4 tbsp Flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Butter

Instructions
 

  • Pour milk in the double boiler.
  • Beat the egg with sugar and then add flour.
  • Pour mixture into a stockpot and add milk. Place stockpot on stovetop and mix. The mixture comes together fast, whisk quickly.
  • Set aside to cool.
  • Once cooled, add Vanilla and stir. If not using right away place in the fridge.

Notes

You probably will notice that my instructions do not call for the butter. You could mix it in with the flour and sugar mixture if you want, but it is not neccessary. It is completely up to you. It will add a bit more shine to your filling. It is 100% a personal preference.
