For all my fellow dill pickle lovers! This Dill Pickle Pizza is the perfect option for your next pizza night. Whether you are a dill pickle plan or you are looking for something different, this one is a crowd pleaser! Even the New Yorkers in my family crave this pie!!
Preheat oven with cast iron skillet inside. Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
If you are using fresh dough, pull the dough out and allow the dough to come to room temp.
Once the oven is pre-heated and the dough/crust is ready pull out cast the iron skillet and lightly coat the bottom with olive oil. Place the skillet back in the oven and allow the olive oil to heat, about 2-3 min.
Work dough into a circle large enough so that it will cover the bottom of the skillet. Or your desired thickness. If it is larger and comes up the side a little, that is fine.
Pull the cast iron skillet out of the oven and carefully place the dough into the cast iron skillet. Remember the skillet is super hot with hot oil so best practice is the lay the dough in away from you!
Then lightly brush garlic oil or sauce of choice on the dough.
Top with half of the cheese.
Then top with half of the pickles.
Place the pizza in the oven for 7-9 minutes.
Once pizza is cooked, you can either remove from oven or turn on broiler to brown the cheese.
Carefully remove the pizza from the cast iron skillet and place the pizza on a cooling rack. While the pizza is cooling sprinkle the pizza with the dill.
Once the pizza is cooled to a good temp for you, slice and enjoy!
