Grandma's Peanut Butter Cookies
These peanut butter cookies are absolutely delicious, chewy, and best of all, easy to make! My grandma would always make these for every holiday and special occasion, they are definitely a family favorite!
Equipment
- 1 Mixing Bowl
- 1 Cookie Sheet
- 1 Hand Mixer
- 1 Cookie Scoop
Ingredients
- 1 cup Shortening
- 1 cup White Sugar
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 cup Peanut Butter
- 3 cups Flour
- 2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Vanilla
Instructions
- Cream together shortenin, add sugar gradually, creaming these together until well belnded.
- Add eggs and beat mixture.
- Add Peanut Butter.
- Sift Flour, soda, and salt together. Add to above mixture.
- Stir this until well blended.
- Stir in Vanilla.
- Shape dough inot small balls and place on oiled baking sheet (I used parchement).
- Flatten with a fork until cookies are 1/4" thick.
- Bake in a hot oven (400 degrees) until a nice brown. (see blog post for what I used for a bake time!)
