1 Cup Chopped Dates 1 Cup Hot Water 1 Cup Shortening 1 Cup Sugar 2 Eggs 1 teas Vanilla 1 3/4 Cup Flour 1 teas Baking Soda 1 teas Cocoa Dash of Salt 3/4 Cup Chocolate Chips 3/4 Cup Chopped Nuts
Pre Heat Oven to 350 Degrees
Cover 1 cup of chopped dates with 1 cup of hot water (faucet), let cool.
Cream 1 cup shortening and 1 cup sugar.
Beat in 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon Vanilla, add dates and water.
Sift together 1 3/4 Cup flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon cocoa, dash of salt then add to creamed mixture.
Stir in 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips.
Pour in greased 9x13 pan.
Top with 3/4 cup chocolate chips and 3/4 cup of chopped nuts.
Bake, then allow to cool and enjoy!
