My grandma has so many cookie recipes, sometimes it is hard to keep them all straight. Since it has been a while since I added one of GMA's cookie recipes, I thought it was time. When I was going through her recipe box I noticed this Oatmeal Cookie recipe, I really didn't remember it, but I was drawn to it.
It seemed quick, which was what I had time for so, it was a winner in my book! After mixing all the ingredients I just had to try the dough. Yes, I know, raw dough is a no-go, but I have lived this long eating it so I am willing to keep taking the chance. Let me tell you, this dough was amazing, and as soon as I ate it something seemed similar.

After putting a cookie sheet in the oven and baking them off I could not wait to try one. They really puffed up when baking and then deflated when I pulled them out of the oven. I barely left these cookies enough time to cool before I tried one, but then I remembered. Isn't that the magic of food, how it can transport you back to a time or place instantly?
When I spoke to my mom and sister, then knew exactly what cookies I was talking about and how good they were. These are going to be on rotation in our house from now on. While we didn't make it through the entire batch, I am thinking that I need to take the leftovers and mix them in with Vanilla Ice Cream for a deconstructed ice cream sandwich-type thing, because that sounds amazing as well.

I know some of you might think you have to add in nuts, raisins, chocolate chips, etc., but these cookies are amazing just as the recipe is written. Of course, feel free to add in, but definitely try these famous cookies on their own you will not regret it.
